1.Whose money this policy covers

We collect our own service and subscription fees only — website hosting, maintenance and software subscriptions billed by us, to our own clients. We do not collect, hold, manage or distribute funds on behalf of third parties. If you buy goods or services from a website we built for someone else, that payment is between you and that business, under their terms, through their own payment facility. We are not a party to it.

So this policy covers refunds of fees paid to Pocket Architects (Pty) Ltd, and nothing else.

2.Free trial

Nothing is charged during a free trial, so there is nothing to refund. Stop before it ends and you pay nothing.

3.Subscriptions

  • Plans are billed in advance. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep full access until then — on a monthly plan billed on the 6th, that is the 6th of the following month; on an annual plan, the same date next year.
  • We do not refund the unused part of a period you have already paid for, because you keep the service for all of it.
  • If you cancel within 7 days of your first paid charge, we refund that first charge in full.
  • A minimum term still applies. Cancelling inside a minimum term does not refund what has been paid, and the remaining months of that term remain due.

Your rights under section 14 of the Consumer Protection Act, where it applies to you, are not affected by anything in this clause.

4.Cooling-off

Where section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act applies to your purchase, you have 7 days to cancel an electronic transaction without giving a reason. It generally does not apply to a service you asked us to start immediately — which is why we offer the 7-day first-charge refund in clause 3 regardless.

5.Once-off builds

  • The deposit secures your slot in the schedule and covers the work that starts immediately. It is refundable in full if you cancel before we begin, and not refundable once work has started.
  • If you cancel partway through, you pay for the work completed up to that point, and we hand it over. Anything you have paid beyond that is refunded.
  • If something we delivered does not work as the quote described, we fix it free under the 60-day warranty. If we cannot fix it, we refund the part of the price that relates to it.
  • A change of mind about a completed, working build is not a refund.

6.Billing errors

Double charges, charges after a cancellation, and charges for something you never ordered are refunded in full, always, without argument. Tell us and we fix it.

7.How to ask for a refund

  • Email info@pocket-architects.com with the invoice number and what went wrong.
  • We acknowledge within 2 business days.
  • We decide and tell you within 7 business days.
  • Approved refunds are paid within 10 business days, to the same method you paid with.

8.Chargebacks

If you think a charge is wrong, please come to us first — it is faster than a bank dispute, and we would rather fix the problem than argue about it through PayFast.

9.Complaints

If you are not happy with a refund decision, say so and it will be reviewed by Reinhardt van der Walt personally. You keep every right to take the matter to the National Consumer Commission or a court.
